Gyawali & Co. is a civil litigation law firm, working on both public and private law matters. We have a particular expertise in health law, privacy matters, indigenous/aboriginal law, passenger transportation, and employment and human rights.
In addition to representing individuals and businesses, we consult for other legal professionals, particularly on complex litigation matters.
Selina Gyawali and Taylor Clarke have over 20 years of practice and are skilled and practical lawyers.
We are confident and at home in the Courtroom (having been counsel in two of BC’s lengthiest modern trials: Cambie Surgeries and Cowichan Tribes) as well as outside of it (having extensive experience settling difficult matters out of court).
Selina has been counsel on a number of high-profile constitutional, administrative, and aboriginal law cases. She is experienced and confident advocating before the Courts and administrative tribunals (with 40 reported decisions to date).
Selina obtained her law degree from UBC in 2014. Before this, she completed an M.Sc in Neuroscience; she considers her work in spinal cord injury research to be some of her most meaningful.
Selina combines her love of science/medicine, law, and policy into her health law practice. As an expert in this area, she is a trusted advisor to physicians, health professionals, and clinics on a wide range of matters.
Taylor Clarke joined Gyawali & Co. in 2024. He has practised as an independent legal consultant since 2018. Taylor has an academic background in philosophy and graduated from UBC Law in 2013.
Taylor has a broad range of civil litigation experience, and enjoys helping people and businesses to navigate administrative law problems. Taylor’s advice is particularly valued and sought after in the taxi and pharmacy industries, where his knowledge and experience with all facets of regulatory compliance is unparalleled.
